
Brea is located in northeastern Orange County and is bordered by Los Angeles County and the unincorporated area of Orange County to the north, Placentia and Fullerton to the south, Yorba Linda to the east, and La Habra and La Mirado to the west. Brea is located off the 57 freeway where Imperial Highway (CA Route 90) intersects.
Brea consists of a population of approximately 35,000 people and was incorporated in 1917, being the eigth city to be incorporated in Orange County. In the mid-20th century Brea was an oil production hub and subsequently became a center for citrus production. As the 57 freeway was built out and the
Brea Mall built, the city turned more into a suburban market with most of the real estate development occuring in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. At the center of Brea today is the Brea Mall and the downtown area known as
Downtown Brea that consists of shops, restaurants, a comedy club, movie theater, and much more. Brea is also known for its public displays of art throughout the community and today displays nearly 150 pieces. In 2007, Sunset Magazine named Brea one of the top five places to live in the United States.
The Brea real estate market consists primarily of condos and single family homes with condos from the $200,000s and single family homes from $300,000 all the way up to some in the low to mid $1 millions.
